Membership Issues

A. Each member of good standing and of membership of more than one year may petition/sponsor membership of one person per year to join the household
     1. Said member is responsible for new members actions for the period of one year or three household events, whichever comes first.

B. New members are approved by a majority of 80% of all active members available for vote.
     1. The Head of the House must be involved in any vote for membership, be said vote be in person, online, etc.

C. Spouses/partners of members may become members if they so desire and do not need to petition for membership unless he/she desires to do so. 
     1. All other membership rules will apply however.
     2. In the event of termination of a relationship both parties are expected to maintain themselves politely when within the group. Break up does not constitute membership termination.
     3. Both parties are not to play relationship games within the household. Doing so said member risks removal from the household

D. Children of members may become members by default and are under household protection and sanctuary. 
     1. If the child is under the age of 18 they will be marked as such. 

E. Pages/Huscarls/Students of members are considered honorary members (unless already a member of the house) and are under the protection of the house. 
     1. Pages/Huscarls/Students should be marked as such with either a belt or a favour to identify them as such.
     2. Pages are defined as youths that are sponsored by a household member to educate them in the ways of the SCA. The Page and the sponsoring household member can or will have an oath of fealty. Once a Page turns 18, they may opt to become a Huscarl. Pages are the responsibility of the sponsoring household member.
     3. Huscarls are defined as either a former page or someone over the age of 18 that is sponsored by a household member for education in the ways of the SCA. The Huscarl and the sponsoring household member can or will have an oath of fealty. A Huscarl may petition to become a full member of the household, if not already a member. Huscarls remain the responsibility of the sponsoring household member.
     4. Students are defined as persons of any age that is a student of a household member in order to learn a specific art, trade, or vocation. Students may also be a Page or a Huscarl. An oath of Fealty is up to the individual Student and Household member. Students over the age of 18 may petition to become member after one year as a student if not already a member of the household. Students remain the responsibility of the sponsoring household member.

F. Minimum age to become a member of the household is 18 with the following provisions:
     1. Child of a member
     2. Page or Student of a member
     3. Or will reach the age of 18 within two months of petition.
          a. This is only done on a case-by-case basis.

G. Removal of a member.
     1. If removal of a member becomes necessary, a majority vote of 80% of active members is required.
     2. Head of the household has final say and can veto as needed
     3. Remember, some members of the household may be gits, but they are our gits and will be treated or dealt with by the household
